Our History

It all started with the closure of a play group in nearby Belle Vue Crescent. It was the 1970s and Llandaff North residents Ann and Alan Davies along with a dozen local mums recognised the need for a community space. By 1977 they had raised £2,500, part of which secured the lease at the old booking office at Llandaf train station in Llandaff North. This venue was used for various community-based events but it became clear that Llandaff North needed a community centre. After a few years of lobbying from the group, Cardiff Council agreed and in 1986 Llandaff North Community Centre was officially opened.
